Maybe I’ve been going crazy thinking
maybe I need to leave this place,
saying goodbye to everything lately,
daily, I’ve been looking for a change
I’ve been acting very strange
With an averted gaze, looking glazed
See this face? Does it look aged?

for my wicked ways

feeling displaced
the disparity its pounding me

Coming faster than I could describe
Inside I now need to say my goodbyes, no question why,
All this time, has slipped me by, for reasons I,
Can’t even start, to begin to try to supply the reason why
Why I now think goodbye, is such a deceitful word
Such a deceitful term, for such a deceitful girl,
a cruel mistress what I got, when i ignored lessoned learned
looking stupid, after how many times, goodbye was heard
and I guess that’s how things occurred, so now curtain call
home has given so much, but that’s hard to say that, that’s my fault
so again I make my promise to leave, I’ll make my walk
I’ll return someday, so I didn’t write this in pen, I wrote this in chalk.

If for not for the people who constitute my upbringing,
I make the case, that I would not, be the one here singing,
I want to leave, change from the town, to the big city
Sitting pretty, fifty stories high, altitude making me dizzy
with my new skyline view, with the smog stained hue
and now the place that I stay, won’t be the one I gave away
but for the record I plan to return someday
